Brief

In the summer of 2021, BKOM, a Quebec City-based video-game studio, celebrated its 25th anniversary. To mark the occasion, MOCOM’s creative team explored avenues for reimagining the company’s branding. With their imaginations firing on all cylinders, the creative team developed a new brand identity inspired by the 80’s universes of Atari and Coleco —an exciting concept worlds away from the previous one. This new visual identity incorporated vibrant colours, comic-inspired design elements and typographic elements to create a retro-futuristic aesthetic with a hint of punk.

Brand image

Quickly swept away by their imagination and inspired by the new slogan, the creative team proposed a completely new brand identity, significantly different from the previous one and inspired by the worlds of Atari and Coleco from the 1980s.

Brand guidelines

Added to the brand image was a Brush-type typographic research, as well as the foundations of a brand new photographic and video universe that is highly colorful, retrofuturistic, geometric, slightly punk, and populated with cartoonish pictograms.

Merchandise

Several variations were proposed to make the brand even stronger and more recognizable. Caps, shirts, glasses—the imagination of our creatives knows no bounds!
